How to Mesaure and Install Fireplace Doors - Factory Built / Zero Clearance

Determining The Manufacturer of your Fireplace
  • Determine the manufacturer and model number of the fireplace. This information is usually located on a metal plate on the inside wall of the fireplace above the refractory panels or behind the mesh curtain on the inset return.
  • Once you find this refer to the model chart on the manufacturer page and determine if a stock enclosure is available.
  • If the fireplace manufacturer and model is not listed refer to the custom door selection for your manufacturer.
Does My Fireplace Have Tracks?      Do I Need Doors Only or Doors with a Frame?

  • These fireplaces have a track for the doors to slide in. Notice the channel at the bottom that guides the pin. Your fireplace must have this track or channel to order the doors only. (The doors pictured are a set of doors with frame)
Measuring Your Fireplace For Factory Built Fireplace Doors
  • To the left is an example of measuring for a 42 (w) x 21 (h) fireplace opening.
  •  Please get 4 measurements Top/Bottom Width and Left/Right Heigt. This is to make sure your opening is square. If your opening is not square our factory built doors will not work in your fireplace, and you will need to order custom doors.
Installing Fireplace Doors
  • Step 1 - Fold doors together and locate bottom door pivot pin. With panel door at an angle, place door pivot pin into bottom panel hole located in bottom corners of frame. Rotate doors to the vertical position aligning top pin with door track. Slide door until top pin engages with clips.
  • Step 2 - Repeat for remaining door.
Installing Fireplace Door Frame
Zdoor-Zdecor installation
  • If you can use a screwdriver, you can install your new doors.  Simply attach the frame to your fireplace, pop the doors in and your good to go.
